🪻ZUANTE SPLASH ART | BLOOMING OF THE DHARMA 🙏 ___________________________________________ Sharing with you the biggest commercial work I’ve ever done for the project 'BLOOMING OF THE DHARMA'. The character is ZUANTE, a monk with a dark past who goes on a journey to shed evil and return to tranquility, kindness, and goodness; his power is connected to the five elements. Since the client wanted me to decide his appearance, I had to redo the concept multiple times throughout the process to reach the final result.Because it was a difficult project, it was quite a struggle to find the best direction. Since the default is a monk, I chose a brighter mood for the piece. The last time I handled a backlit painting was with a Gwen fanart. It was a tough start with the very tricky green, so I tried some warmer colors to balance it out. Another difficulty was capturing the light. At first, I was quite greedy with the light hitting the focal point, which accidentally made me get the angle of sunlight in space wrong. Fortunately, Dao helped me realize this in time, and the idea of having more reflected light is really the darker path 🥹.
